Lot A of the Papoose Creek Summer Home Group.

Thirty miles east of Meeker and about two miles south of the
White River are seven summer cabins placed in a row on the east side of,
and parallel with, Papoose Creek. This cabin is the last one on the south
and at the end of the road.
These cabins are on White River National Forest land, and have long-term
leases
of the sites through a Special Use Permit with the Forest Service.
The leases run for 20 years, the current 20 year lease will be renewed January
1, 2009. The lease payments are due in advance and change each year in accordance
with the Implicit Price Deflator-Gross National Product.
For the year of 2005 the lease payment was $1,040.62.
This cabin is on Lot A, which is about 1/3 of an acre.

The lot and the surrounding land is heavily forested and secluded.
The Papoose Trail head is nearby and leads to the south through National
Forest land and into the Flat Tops Wilderness Area, about 3 miles from the
cabin.
Papoose Creek is just about 20 yards from the cabin and the trout fishing
is good.
This log cabin was built in 1952 and has 820 square feet of living space,
which includes two loft bedrooms, one 3/4 bathroom, a big living room with
an open log beam ceiling,
a beautiful rock fireplace, pine floors, & knotty pine walls and kitchen
cabinets.

There is a full kitchen with a gas cook top, sink, built-in gas oven, a
closet with the newer gas water heater, and plenty of cabinets and countertop.
The dining area is in the kitchen.
A door in the kitchen opens onto an enclosed porch on the north side of
the cabin,
where the refrigerator is kept. The front porch of the cabin has a roof
over it and faces west toward the creek.

The domestic water system is down in the Creek, which supplies only this
cabin.

The septic system is shared with two neighboring cabins. The leases do not
allow these cabins to be used as year around residences.
This cabin has newer wiring (1994), a new gas forced air furnace,
and the metal roof was new in 2002.
